What is "On Site!" ?

On Site! is a multimedia program designed to educate students in grades 6-8 about the different types of construction and the career opportunities available to them. On Site! uses curriculum-based lessons and hands-on exploration for use in social studies and math classes with links to language arts and science.

What is included in the On Site! Tool Kit ?

The On Site! Tool Kit is a turnkey supplementary education program that educates students about the construction industry, how it impacts their lives and the construction careers available to them. The Kit contains:

  • A teaching guide comprised of 24 pages and nine lesson plans. All of the lessons are linked to National Standards for social studies, science, math, and language arts
  • 60 student activity books. The books provide students with individual activity workbooks to complete the lessons.
  • "The Most Astounding Structures" Video: Developed in conjunction with the History Channel, provides a thirty-minute overview to "the most" - the tallest, strangest, etc. structures on earth.
  • Consumable materials for hands-on projects: wooden dowels, washers, popsicle sticks, rubber bands, floatable concrete mix, which are used in conjunction with the student activities.
  • Teacher Questionnaire: to solicit valuable information from teachers on their experiences and how to improve the On Site! program.


How much does the On Site! Tool Kit cost?

AGC Members, chapters and other sponsor kits at a cost of $199 each. There is NO CHARGE TO ELIGIBLE TEACHERS OR SCHOOLS. Contact us to see if you qualifiy! Shipping is included unless express delivery is requested.

How long will it take a class to cover the On Site! material?

The On Site! Tool Kit has nine lessons that will take a class an average of 15-20 hours to complete. The unit is designed to be taught over a 2-3 week period. The actual time it takes a class to cover the materials greatly depends on the student, teacher, and activities selected.

How will teachers receive an On Site! Tool Kit?

Once an On Site! Tool Kit has been ordered by your local AGC Chapter, the order is sent to Scholastic for fulfillment. The tool kit is shipped directly to the individual named on the order form as designated by the sponsor of your kit. The On Site! Toll Kit should be shipped within 3-4 weeks after receipt of order.

Why do I need a sponsor?
